Weeding

Intermittently throughout the internship, weeding and planting flowers at Woodlawn and Jubilee fell to us. I can’t say that this was our favorite work to do, because it was always very sunny and hot, but we made the best of it. To pass the time we listened to German music with our music box, did little dance sessions or played Mishas game “Would you Rather…“.

A funny moment was, when all six of us and Misha had to weed at Jubilee Farm and it was raining off and on throughout the day. In the evening we all looked very tired and wet. The picture of us together tells it all. :) In my opinion it was nice to see the before and after pictures of our work.

  • Marlene Gillesberger

Marlene here, weeding Queen (a two-fisted weeder). In the drivers seat of Raymond Norris’s John Deere 7700 which he built and uses ONLY for tractor pull competitions. That’s why it is so clean and pristine. Notice all the folks who sponsor this tractor! He travels for competitions and when he’s not farming lots of soybeans, corn and winter wheat (10,000 acres), he enters tractor pulls in his spare time.

Before…

After!

Judith and I planted this section of the garden with Misha on our first day. Jet lagged….

Mulching, almost done.
