2023 Austrian Interns Arrive at Dulles International July 12, 2023

“Meet us in front of Café Americano if there’s any question.” This is what we always advise in the event that we don’t find each other right away. And here are all 9 interns from HBLA Elmberg who passed through customs and baggage quickly and efficiently. We’ve come to expect such organizational skills from the students who study at HBLA Elmberg in Linz, Austria. They’ve been studying agriculture and economics for three years and we learn a lot from them about gardening and plants and farm management. Many are from farm families and like many farm folks, they are focused and eager learners.

They did a LOT of weeding, moved a flock of chickens to new quarters, emptied several truck loads of farm and woodland debris, kayaked to the shoals and the beaver pond on Blake Creek, cooled off in the pool and repainted some of the farm buildings with a new coat of paint. BTW that was Week 1.

So much gets accomplished with the help of our HBLA students. Thank you 2023 Austrian Interns for joining us at Woodlawn and Jubilee Farms!
